This umbrella stand works well with a table to support it. It isn't quite as sturdy when used along with the doesn't provide quite enough support when used alone with just the umbrella. I like the simplicity of the design.

This base is good looking, simple, well designed, but the plastic/rubber cap at the top of the umbrella-holding sleeve is the weak link. We were provided with two sleeves. The cap on the first one wore out in a couple of weeks, leaving the umbrella shaft to flop back and forth in the sleeve. The second sleeve is taller, but the plastic/rubber cap is the same. We hope somehow it holds up.
